New K9 Deputy in Cass County

A 2-year-old German Shepard Dog has joined the Cass County Sheriff's Office K-9 Unit.

Deputy Adam Messmer and his K-9, Bock, recently graduated from K-9 training at Von Henger Kennels in Kingsville, Missouri.

Bock is certified in narcotics detection, handler protection, suspect apprehension and tracking, area search, building search, and articles searches.

"We are pleased to have our third K-9 team fully staffed. The investment in a K-9 program is worthwhile and benefits numerous law enforcement agencies and most importantly our citizens. The specialized work the K-9 Unit performs is vital to keep Cass County safe," said Sheriff Jeff Weber.

K9 Bock replaces K9 Loki who retired last month.
