On Saturday Febuary the third, members of the Cass County Honor Guard, along with Officers, Fireman, Military, and civilians from around the Metro area participated in the Polar Bear Plunge at Longview Lake.

Proceeds support year-round sports training and athletic competition for the 14,502 children and adults with mental disabilities who participate in Special Olympics Missouri.

The Polar Bear Plunge is affiliated with the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. Torch Run events raise awareness and funds for Special Olympics Missouri, and in 2006, Missouri's Torch Run ranks No. 8 in the world.
