The body found in a rural Harrisonville creek has been identified at 19 year old Scott A. Leach 07-03-1987 of Harrisonville. Late this evening Cass County Detective's identified the victim and notified next of kin.

The Cass County Sheriff's Detectives are investigating the death of Mr. Leach, found in rural Harrisonville near US 71 Hwy and E. 307th St. Authorities received a 9-1-1 call from an individual who located the body of a man in a creek northeast of 71 hwy and 307th St.

Deputies had to use ATV’s and 4 wheel drive vehicles to access the scene because of the location. The victim was located approximately ½ mile from the road. Investigators are not giving any information about the victim’s condition. An autopsy will be conducted by the Jackson County Medical Examiner on Wednesday.

There is no information about a cause of death or how long the victim was in the creek.
