Two People Arrested in Vehicle Pursuit

On Wednesday May 1, 2019 around 8:30 pm a deputy with the Cass County Sheriff's Office attempted to stop a vehicle in the area of Commercial Street and Wall Street, Harrisonville, for a registration violation. When the deputy activated his emergency equipment the driver sped through a gas station parking lot and took off at a high rate of speed north on Commercial Street. The pursuit continued west on Rockhaven Drive and into the City of Peculiar where an occupant of the car threw items out of the vehicle.

Officers with the Peculiar Police Department successfully deployed a tire deflation device as the vehicle exited the city on Peculiar Drive. With the vehicle partially disabled the pursuit continued through rural areas of Peculiar at slow speeds. The driver led deputies to northbound I-49 at North Cass Parkway and continued north. Deputies performed a tactical vehicle intervention maneuver and forced the vehicle off the highway.

The driver, Ashley F. Quigg, 22, Raymore and a passenger Scott A. Mcroy, 26, Peculiar were both taken into custody without further incident.

Ashley Quigg has been charged in this incident with Resisting Arrest by Fleeing, E Felony. Her bond was set at $10,000.00 (10% cash only).

Scott Mcroy was arrested on three municipal warrants from Belton Police Department. Mcroy was transferred to the Belton City Jail.

The Cass County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Peculair Police Department, Raymore Police Department, Belton Police Department and Missouri State Highway Patrol.
