Man Arrested in Child Pornography Case
On Wednesday September 29th law enforcement officers with the Western Missouri Cyber Crimes Task Force executed a search warrant at 1995 S.W. 2 Highway, Garden City on the Cass County & Johnson County Missouri Line. Johnson County and Cass County Sheriff’s Investigators along with Task Force Members served the warrant looking for evidence related to an ongoing child pornography case.
The Western Missouri Cyber Crimes Task Force arrested Matthew E.Smith 42, of Garden City. Assisted by the Johnson County Missouri Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, Smith was charged on September 30 with 4 Felony counts of Possession of Child Pornography and bond was set at $100,000. Smith was transported to the Johnson County Jail and posted bail on the charges.
