The canine units work closely with other Deputies, local Police Departments, as well as the Missouri State Highway Patrol in a variety of search functions.

Both members of the canine unit and their dogs have completed an extensive training regimen to become certified in all aspects of Law Enforcement functions. They are also required to attend training weekly to maintain their certifications.
